Fire Extinguishing Robot
In the spring of 2013, myself and two teammates designed and built three iterations of a small remote-controlled fire-fighting robot. The goal of the robot was to actuate a valve to relieve water at high pressure from a hose to put out a camp-fire sized flame. Throughout this semester-long project, we utilized three prototyping techniques: extractive milling, sheet metal fabrication and 3-D printing. Our final robot was able to extinguish a fire in under 10 seconds.
